The Vuelta a Espana

Holiday Package from Citrus Cycling

3rd September to 7th September 2010

The Vuelta a Espana returns to the Valencian Region in 2010 with two tough mountain stages. The first arrives in the mountains around Alicante on Saturday 4th September finishing over the top of the now Famous 1st cat climb of Xorrett del Cati. The following day, it stays in the mountains with no less than 6 categorised climbs, including the 2nd cat climb of Alto de Toudons then continuing on to finish in Alcoy.

Friday 3rd September:

Day of arrival. Upon arriving at Citrus Cycling there will be a welcome meeting where you will receive stage maps and all relevant information about the stages that you will see during your stay.

Saturday 4th September: stage 8 Villena to Xorret del Cati 188.8km

Today we will head out for stage 8 of the Vuelta, the first serious mountain stage of this years race. We will position ourselves on the final decisive climb of the day, the now famous 1st cat climb of Alto Xorret del Cati where the final action of the day will be played out.

Sunday 5th September: stage 9 Calpe to Alcoy 187km

Today is the second stage in the mountains around Alicante. Totaling 187km with 6 mountain passes in the entire 2010 Vuelta this will guarantee a tough day in the saddle for the peloton. We will watch todays stage on the Alto de Tudons, being the 4th categorised climb of the stage this is where action for the stage victory should really start.

Monday 6th September:

Today is the day to experience some of the climbs on your bikes from stage 9 Calpe to Alcoy which include Coll de Rates(625m), Alto de Toudons(1025m) and Puerto de Benifallim(1030m). There will be a full support vehicle for the ride which will bring you back from Alcoy.

Cost of package is £350 per person

Not included in this package: 

Flights. There are numerous airlines flying into Alicante Airport from many UK destinations.

Transfer to and from Alicante Airport can be arranged.

We also have a supply of hire bikes for those that don't wish to bring there own. Bikes will have to be booked in Advance.

Prices for cycling holiday and training weeks

All prices are based on 7 nights stay at Citrus Cycling

Option 1: Includes Bed & Breakfast, after ride snack and fully guided rides for £230 per person/euro335 per person

A group booking of six or more will attract a 10% discount of the total cost.

Option 2: Includes Bed & Breakfast and fully guided rides(rides to be booked in advance) for £200 per person/euro290 per person

A group booking of six or more will attract a 5% discount of the total cost.

Option 3: Self catering only for £150 per person/euro215 per person.(guided rides can be booked during your stay for a fee of euro17 per person per day)

Your own route cards are available for options 2&3 for unguided rides.

 

 

Booking Procedure

Step 1 - Please contact us first for more information and to check availability.

Step 2 - To make your booking please complete one of the two downloadable booking forms and return it to us with a 25% deposit. Before returning your booking form please make sure you have read, and understand, our terms and conditions.

Your deposit can be paid either by Sterling or Euro cheque. The final balance can be paid by either Euro cheque or cash. Your final balance must be paid prior to the completion of your stay.

Step 3 - We will confirm your booking by e-Mail upon receipt of your booking form and deposit cheque.

To Pay via PayPal

Once we have confirmed you booking we will email you a PayPal invoice showing you a breakdown of your costs. This invoice will direct you to the secure PayPal site, where you will be able to make your payment.

Once payment has been confirmed we will send you a receipt.

'Please note that PayPal payments will incur a 5% charge to cover admin. costs. This charge will appear on your original invoice.   

Terms & Conditions

  1. Payment - A deposit of 25% per person is required to secure your booking. Confirmation of your booking will be sent to you by e-mail when we receive your deposit together with your booking form. The balance must be paid prior to the completion of your stay.
  2. Your contract - a binding contract between yourself and Citrus Cycling comes into existence when we send you our confirmation e-mail. Please check the confirmation as soon as you receive it and raise any queries immediately.
  3. Cancellation must be received in writing. Deposits can only be refunded if the accommodation can be re-let. In the event that Citrus Cycling has to cancel your booking, any deposit and balance paid will be refunded in full.
  4. Your accommodation will not be available until 3pm on the first day of your visit, and you must leave the accommodation and property of the owners by 11am on the last day of your visit, unless authorisation has been given by the owners Adam & Alex Radford.
  5. Any special needs, such as dietary requirements, should be clearly noted on your booking form.
  6. Transport or air transfers provided by us will be confirmed by us with reasonable notice. We reserve the right to decline requests for transport or air transfers. Any transporting that we undertake will be provided as a non profit making service. Before transportation we will advise you of the cost and will require payment before completion of your stay. We will not be responsible for damage to, or theft of, your belongings during these services.
  7. Any damage or loss to our property or other guests caused by you or any member of your party must be paid in full immediately. We expect all guests to have consideration for all other people.
  8. We accept no liability for the death of, or personal injury to, any persons during their stay, or for any loss or damage resulting there from unless caused by the proven negligence of ourselves. We do not accept any responsibility for strikes, war, sickness, Acts of God, etc., over which we have no control.
  9. You are advised to take out appropriate travel insurance for your needs. UK residents should ensure that they apply for a European Health Insurance Card (this has replaced the E111 form). You can apply on line for a free card at www.ehic.org.uk/InternetPROD/home.do
